Photoshoot at silverspace studios

Back in January Maria flew in from Germany to work with me. This was the second time I had the pleasure to create photos with her, the first time she came here was last summer and we had a great time shooting around Hampstead Heath.
This was my first time shooting at the beautiful Silverspace Studios, which I have used a few times since, because it’s perfect for relaxed portrait photography. It’s a great space to get creative in, with beautiful decor and great light. I am sure I will be back many times!
Maria was a joy to photograph, being a photographer herself, she was relaxed from the start and we just had fun chatting, laughing and twirling around basically. Most of my shoots end up going something like this: just show up, we talk and I take photos during our conversation. It’s my favourite way to work and I am grateful my people trust me and my approach.

The bit about Maria being a photographer herself and therefore relaxed makes sense, since knowing the process usually kills the awkwardness faster than any posing direction could. I've found the same thing with people who've spent time in front of a camera before, they stop performing and just talk.
